What's in my make up bag? UPDATED

At the beginning of the year I did a "what's in my make up bags?" post, since then I have actually downsized to 1 smaller make up bag so I thought I would do an updated "what's in my make up bag?"

So let's get onto it

The new make up bag in question is this adorable Disney one that I picked up in Primark for £2

Powder Brush to use alongside my Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder
Blush Brush to use with my Sleek Blush in Rose Gold
No7 blending brush, this is apparently a good dupe for the MAC 217, I use this if I need to do any tidying up at any point.
"Charity Pot" moisturiser from Lush
Dainty Doll Concealer in 001
Seventeen Stay Time concealer in Extra fair
Seventeen Super lash Liner
Rimmel Scandal Eyes eye liner in black
Maybelline Big Eyes Mascara

I am so glad I finally found a smaller make up bag- any other I found were always too bulky and not what I was looking for.
This is ideal for everyday and if I am ever running late I still have enough room to pop in my foundation, Primer, foundation brush and a small palette and do my make up when I get to work although I doubt that would happen *fingers crossed now though*

What do you keep in your every day make up bags?

Thank you for reading, hope you liked this post.

5SOS Signing OOtD

This afternoon I was lucky enough to go to the 5SOS signing at the HMV store in Leeds.
If you don't know who 5SOS are then for a quick rundown they are 4 guys from Australia, they started off posting videos on Youtube, One Direction found out about them (I believe it was mainly Louis) 5SOS supported One Direction on their Take Me Home tour last year, after doing a lot of writing and recording they released their "debut" single She Looks so Perfect on Sunday 23rd March. So now my only suggestion now is to go find them on youtube and have a listen to their music and see what you think of them.

Ok so now we have that covered, they are using this week to do 5 signings in the UK and Leeds was one of the locations so naturally I had to try and get a ticket, unfortunately there were only 600 places available for each signing and I know there were a lot of fans who missed out, so when I said I was lucky I actually was.

Now onto the main topic of this post, my outfit:

I will get this out of the way here, everything other than my converse is from Primark
Denim Jacket- £18
Rolling Stones Tee- £8, this is actually quite long so I tied it at the back to pull it up
Black denim jeans- £7, these are the same jeans as the other black skinny jeans but I decided to go get a size smaller
Converse-£25, Schuh

Unfortunately we weren't allowed to take pictures as we didn't have a lot of time, but I managed to snap a few while I was in line, if you want to see them then do check out my Instagram

I am incredibly happy that I got to go to the signing and while some people might complain about the lack of time at least we had that chance to see them and that is better than nothing.

Beauty & Hair Haul

Does it really need to be said? yes pay day has arrived, my plan was to only buy items that I definitely need, and to some extent that is what has happened, but then a couple extra items were added, oops. I need to be put on a spending ban but I can't help it.

Now onto what I got.
First stop was Boots
Bleach London, Total Bleach- £7
Bleach London Washing Out Liquid- £5
Bleach London Swamp Spritz- £6
Maybelline Baby Skin- £7.99
Rimmel London Rita Ora nail varnish in White Hot Love- £3.69
Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Nail Paint in Sugar Apple- £3.99
Barry M Aquarium Nail Paint in Mediterranean- £3.99
Seventeen Miracle Matte Pressed Powder- £3.99
Spray Bottle- £1.39
Sample of Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Perfectly Nude Foundation- £28.00 for the full size bottle
Total should have been: £43.04
Total was roughly £36.00 as the Barry M Nail paints were on offer at buy 1 get 1 half price, and my Bleach London products were on 3 for 2

next stop was Superdrug
Batiste Dry Shampoo in Oriental- £1.47
Batiste Dry Conditioner- £1.97
Batiste volumising powder- £1.97
Pantene Repair & Protect Oil- £3.47
Total was: £8.88
Total should have been: £17.96 but everything I picked up were on offer

Last stop was Boots again as I forgot to pick something up that I actually needed.
Indeed Labs sample set of 3 currently £8.66, normally £12.99

In total everything SHOULD have come to: £73.99

What beauty products have you bought lately that you would recommend trying out?

Ok I was a bad blogger yesterday and I never got round to posting my weekend look book, so here it is a day late.

Saturday:
Not the greatest picture to be honest as you can't really see any of my outfit but here goes anyway.
Black faux leather jacket: £25 Primark, this is from last year but they do have similar in white and pink.
Black Dress as featured in THIS post: £10 Primark.
Black tights with Cat silhouettes: unsure of price but they were from Primark
Pink ankle socks: £1.50 Primark
Cut out Ankle Boots as featured in THIS post:  £24.99 Garage Shoes
Black bag from THIS haul.

Sunday:
ahh such a lovely setting, just taking a casual selfie while walking round "Country Baskets"
Denim Jacket: £18 Primark
Oversized Blondie Jumper: £12 Primark
Black Mini skirt: Price unknown Internacionale
Tights: Price unknown, Primark
Cut out ankle boots: as above
Black bag: £9 Primark

Yes I do get a lot of my clothes from Primark, personally I don't have a problem shopping there, if you have chance to look around you can sometimes find some quite nice pieces.

Hope you liked this, sorry it was a day late :\

Make up of the Week

Eyes:
Glory all over the lid up to the brow bone
Fantasy over the lid
Ghost and Wicked in the crease
Mythical in the outer corner
Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl liner- top and bottom waterline
Seventeen Superlash Liner on top lash line
Seventeen Superlash mascara in Blackest Black
Maybelline Big Eyes Mascara on lower lashes
(All Eye shadows are from the MUA Smokin' Palette)

Face:
Rimmel Wake me up Foundation in Light Porcelain
Seventeen Stay time 18 Hour Concealer in the lightest shade
Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Transparent
Sleek Rose Gold Blusher
Chino from the MUA Ever After Matte Palette for contouring

Eyebrows:
Rimmel Professional Eyebrow Pencil in Hazel
Maybelline Browdrama in Blonde

It has finally happened, I actually managed a week without the Naked 3 palette, I am a huge MUA fan- they have some brilliant products, especially considering how affordable they are, I think I may have spoilt myself by using my Naked 3 palette so much though, when I switched to using this palette I noticed the colours weren't blending as well, that's not to say I have gone off MUA because I certainly haven't- I will continue to use their products but I might favour Urban Decay now I have got used to how easy they are to blend.

What do you think about High street vs High end make up?

Morning Skin Care Routine

I have been using the same skin care routine for a while now so I thought I would share it with you.

Garnier Micellar Water: Currently £3.33 in Boots (Normally £4.99)
Snoxin & Nanoblur, both from the sample set of 3: Currently £8.66 in Boots (Normally £12.99)
Simple Kind to Skin Eye make up remover: £3.25 in Boots Currently £2.26 in Superdrug
Hyraluronic Acid : £3.99 in B&M
Naturally Radiant Brightening Eye cream: currently £2.98 in Superdrug
Skin Active 5-on-1 wipes: around £2.00 in B&M

I start off using the Simple Kind to Skin Eye Make Up remover to get off any remnants of stubborn mascara.
Then I use the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water all over my face just as a once over to make sure my face is fresh for new make up application.
I use the Make up remover and Cleansing water with Skin active 5-in-1 cleansing wipes- the moisture in the wipes means I use less product.
My next step is to use Snoxin over my face and smoothing any excess down my neck.
Instead of Hydraluron I have been using the Balance Active Formula Hyraluronic 554 Youth Serum- you need the smallest amount of this because believe me a little goes a long way.
I then use Nanoblur on my nose to cover my pores.
Then finally I use the Superdrug Naturally Radiant Brightening Eye cream.

After I have allowed all these products to sink in and settle I move on to my make up for the day, but that can be saved for another post.

Thank you for reading, hope you enjoyed this post

DIY: Brush Cleanser

So this is a little bit different to my usual posts but I thought I would share a quick and simple brush cleanser, this is ideal for spot cleaning your brushes on a day to day basis after you have finished using them- although I would still recommend a deep clean once a week/fortnight depending on how much you use your brushes.

Equipment needed for this is so straight forward and you will most likely have them in your house anyway:

White Conditioner: this isn't essential but I find that it keeps my brushes nice and soft
Surgical Spirit/Rubbing alcohol: You might not have this in the house but you can purchase it at most larger Boots Stores
Hand wash or shampoo whatever you choose to use
Spray bottle: these can be picked up in travel container sets for as little as £1 if you need to buy one.

So let's get started:
First we take the spray bottle and hand wash/shampoo, I would pour a reasonable amount into the spray bottle, maybe about an inch or so deep.

Next we pour some surgical spirit into the spray bottle, you want to leave an inch to 2 inch gap at the top of the spray bottle.

You can stop there if you want, but I like to add conditioner just to keep my brushes soft, I did add a bit too much conditioner to this mix but in my eyes that just means even softer bristles :)

Now all that's left to do is put the lid back on, give it all a shake to mix everything together and you are good to go.
It doesn't look as nice as cleansers that can be bought in shops but it costs a fraction of the price and is a brilliant solution when you have just run out of your normal cleanser and you haven't been able to restock.

So let's put it to the test.

They don't look particularly bad here as I did do a once over with some Micellar water this morning, but they could be cleaner.

Spray some of the mix onto a cotton pad, you don't need to use a lot 2 sprays should be enough.

Swirl the brush on the cotton pad to remove the product build up,

As you can see above there was still a lot of product left on the brushes, now they are as good as new, the best thing about spot cleaning like this is that they don't take too long to dry at all :)

So there you have it, a quick and affordable brush cleanser :) if you decide to give this DIY a go let me know what you think of it

I hope you liked this post.

Nail varnish collection part 1: Sinful Colors

Ok so honestly I don't really own enough nail varnishes to *need* to do this in separate sections, but I liked the idea of splitting it up into brands, so onto the first part of this little "series"
I decided to start with Sinful Colors, no real reason behind this decision.

The colours are in number order :)

L-R:
30: Courtney Orange
265: Rich in Heart
831: Hottie
854: Boogie Nights

L-R:
922: Frenzy
927: Nail Junkie
1056: Winterberry
1106: Cinderella
1135:Pumpkin Spice

In the UK these can be bought at Boots for £1.99 or if you are lucky you might be able to find a couple in poundshops.

So far I have only been unimpressed by one of these nail varnishes, in the bottle Cinderella is a lovely blue but it does not translate at all when applied, it is a very sheer colour which would look amazing over the top of another to give it a frosted look but I also found that it didn't dry very well.

Aside from that one nail varnish I absolutely love the rest of the colours I own so I will be stocking up and building on my collection, I just wish my local Boots store had more selection as I am a little bored of the (very tiny) display of them, I hope more of the Sinful Colors brand works its way to England because for the price you pay you are getting a pretty awesome product.

Have you tried Sinful colors before? if yes what colours would you recommend?

Product Review: Nu Nale Cream

Ok I can't believe that I am going to upload this picture here, so before I do that I will post a little back story, my nails have been absolutely atrocious lately, I don't even know how they got so damaged but boy did they, you could see cracks appearing almost the full way down my nails, they were just so brittle, believe me when I say they were bad.
At the end of February I purchased a product called Nu Nale and I have been using it everyday since I got it.
Below is a picture of my nails this morning before I had applied Nu Nale
I know they are still very damaged but they were a LOT worse before I started using the cream.

You only need to use a small amount, the blob I have on my finger above is enough to do 5 nails. The idea of this cream is to use it 2-3 times a day particularly after washing your hands, personally I wouldn't say it has "improved" my nails, it's hard to explain, it has definitely strengthened my nails and allowed them to grow so I get rid of the damaged nail that way, I suppose that might be why it is named "Nu Nale" as you do end up with a new (hopefully healthy) nail, you can actually see in the first picture the difference between the tip of my nail and the end of it.

This is how my nails look after just applying the cream, it almost disguises some of the damage so it isn't as obvious.

After just less than a months use this has helped my nails a LOT, I was honestly quite upset at just how damaged my nails were but I didn't want to pay out £19 for Nail Envy.

I think this is something I will keep hold of and buy a back up just in case I need to use it again, for £3.60 you really can't go wrong, I just can't wait to have a full set of healthy new nails.

I do have to warn you though, it does have a scent to it, I can't put my finger on what it is but there is a faint scent, it really comes down to if you would risk it for affordable healthy nails

Nu Nale is available in Boots stores and Website

If anyone has any suggestions for healthy nails please do leave them in the comments below.

Hair Care

It is no secret that I like to colour my hair, but one thing a lot of people have been asking me lately is "but how do you get the colour out without damaging your hair?"
Well here is the answer.

To strip the colour out of my hair I have been using "Washing out liquid" by Bleach London, this does make your hair very dry as soon as you use it, on the bottle it does recommend that you follow it up with their Reincarnation mask.
Typically I leave the washing out liquid on for around 5-10 minutes so it gives the product chance to work into the hair and break down the colour pigment.
After I have washed this out I follow it up with the TRESemme Colour Vibrance Protection Conditioner focussing it on the ends of my hair, I leave this on for another 5 minutes before I rinse it out.
The last step is applying the Bleach London Reincarnation mask, I leave this on for 10 minutes to really give it chance to sink into my hair before rinsing it out.
After this is done I wrap my hair in a towel and towel dry it, after it is towel dried I let it dry naturally over night.
Because I do bleach my hair I try to do very little heat styling to my hair, I occasionally use a hair dryer if it is still quite damp by the morning- nobody wants to be going off to work with still damp hair, but as for straightening or curling- well I do these very rarely, I tend to put my hair in fishtail braids if I want my hair wavy.

So there you have it, that is how I have been stripping the colour out of my hair without re-bleaching my hair, although I do need to get my roots done soon- they are looking pretty bad lately.

Bleach London Washing out Liquid- £5, Boots
Bleach London Reincarnation Mask- £6 for 200ml, Boots
TRESemme Colour Vibrance Protection- £4.99 Wilkinsons

Make up of the Week

Oh god no filter and look at those roots, I know I need to get on that ASAP, soon honestly.
Anyway moving away from those appalling roots we shall move onto the actual topic of this post, yes it is time for Make up of the Week.

Eyes:
Strange all the way over the lid up to my brow bone
Dust lightly swept over my lid
Factory, Darkside and a hint of Liar in my crease
Blackheart in outer corner and along upper and lower lash line
Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl liner- top and bottom waterline
Seventeen Superlash Liner on top lash line
Seventeen Superlash mascara in Blackest Black
Maybelline Big Eyes Mascara on lower lashes
(All Eye shadows used are from the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette)

Face:
Rimmel Wake me up Foundation in Light Porcelain
Seventeen Stay time 18 Hour Concealer in the lightest shade
Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Transparent
Sleek Rose Gold Blusher
Chino from the MUA Ever After Matte Palette for contouring

Eyebrows:
Rimmel Professional Eyebrow Pencil in Hazel
Maybelline Browdrama in Blonde

Lips:
Loreal GlamShine Splash Stain in 102 Romy

Not going to lie, I do think that if you take away the Liner then this would be great for a bridal look, although personally I don't see a problem with black liner for a wedding but if you wanted a softer look that would be nice

I really need to start using my other palettes more as I have quite a lot but I have been using the Naked 3 palette every single day since I got it, who knows next weeks post might have something slightly different :)

Hope you liked this post.

Company April 2014

I'm sure people will already know about this, but in case you don't already buy it, the April issue of Company is out with the lovely Zoella on the cover and a free mascara- truthfully I am usually a big sceptical of the make up free with Company as I'm not a big fan of the Mascara/Eyeliner duo that is often a free gift, but this is one magazine I buy despite there being a freebie or not.

Now I have seen a couple people write silly comments such as "but who is she? why is she even on the cover?" well if you actually read Company I'm sure you will have noticed it is one of the only fashion magazines out there that does do a lot of features on Bloggers and Vloggers so why not? Yes it would probably be a bit strange if we saw her on the cover of say "Glamour".

Just random, but am I alone in  wanting to see Company do a feature on fashion around the UK as each city has different trends and styles, it's just something that interests me, this could then be expanded to different countries (I know a month or so back there was an issue that was very French themed)

Have you bought this months issue and what did you think of it? If you aren't a regular buyer of the magazine would you buy it in the future?

Although I'm sure you already follow her, Zoe's blog can be found here and her Youtube channel here

Weekend Look Book Vol 6

It's that time of the week again, yes it's my weekend look book, and for once I didn't have a completely lazy Saturday.

So how about we actually get onto my outfits?

Saturday:
As mentioned above I didn't have a lazy Saturday, in fact I went out shopping to start getting bits and pieces for my bedroom. I will be honest when I first saw the jumper in Primark I didn't think  much to it, but then I started putting this outfit together in my mind, unfortunately they didn't have my size so I got it in a size 12, I probably would have been better with a smaller size but I like the look of an oversized jumper teamed with a fitted skirt, I also like the fact that this can be worn tied at the waist :)
Oversized Jumper- £5 Primark on sale
Black Mini Skirt- Internacionale Price Unknown
Black Tights- Primark
Cut out ankle boots- £34.99 Garage Shoes
Denim Jacket- £18.00 Primark

Sunday:
Sunday's outfit was a lot more casual than Saturday's but I still wanted something that I could wear out so I went for a basic white tee shirt
 basic black skinny jeans
teamed with black flatforms (all 3 are in this Primark Haul)
and my Denim Jacket- £18.00 Primark

On another note, is it just me or has anyone else noticed that some Primark jeans can stretch quite quickly as opposed to shrinking?

Hope you enjoyed this Look Book

Thank you for reading.

Make up of the Week

I know this is up a day late again, I was honestly so exhausted last night I went to bed early and slept for around 7 hours in total- usually I get around 4.

As with last week I kept the same look all week and again I used the Naked 3 palette, honestly that has become my "go-to" palette I love it.

Now time for a pre-work selfie taken around 7.30am while the locker room was empty, unfortunately the lighting in there isn't that great so I wouldn't say this picture shows up true to colour
Eyes:
MUA professional Eye Primer as a base
Strange all over my lid up to my brow
Dust across the lid
Burnout on the outer half
Nooner in the crease
Factory very light in the outer corner
Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl liner- top and bottom waterline
Rimmel Scandaleyes Thick & Thin eyeliner pen- top lash line
Seventeen Superlash mascara in Blackest Black

Face:
Rimmel Wake me up Foundation in Light Porcelain
Seventeen Stay time 18 Hour Concealer in the lightest shade
Seventeen Miracle Matte Pressed Powder in Ivory Porcelain
Sleek Rose Gold Blusher
Chino from the MUA Ever After Matte Palette for contouring

Eyebrows:
Rimmel Professional Eyebrow Pencil in Hazel
Maybelline Browdrama in Blonde

Lips:
